The database client that stays out of your way.
DataQuery is a fast, local-first desktop app for browsing schemas, writing SQL and editing data safely. Free to use, no account, no telemetry. Built in Rust.
One app for SQL, key-value, document and wide-column databases.
Each engine gets its own adapter, explorer and query language. Redis gets a key browser, MongoDB a document view, Cassandra knows its partition keys.

Built for the database you can't afford to get wrong.
Local-first
Connections, scripts and history live on your machine. No account, no cloud sync, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you turn it on.
Passwords in your keychain
Credentials go to macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager or Secret Service. They never appear in settings files or logs.
Never freezes
Queries run off the UI thread with a visible timer and a real cancel. Results are fetched in pages, so a million-row table opens instantly.
Safe edits
Edit cells inline, review the generated SQL, then save everything in one transaction. Tables without a primary key get a warning first.
Production guardrails
Production connections get a red frame. DROP, TRUNCATE and DELETE without WHERE ask you to type the connection name.
Opt-in AI, your key
Ask questions about your schema with your own API key for Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Mistral or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Generated SQL lands in the editor and never runs by itself.
NULL is not an empty string. 9223372036854775807 is not 9223372036854776000.
Big integers and decimals keep every digit. NULL, empty text, JSON, binary and time zones each render differently, so you can tell them apart at a glance.

Every feature is free. Donations keep it that way.
There is no Pro tier and no paywall on any database. If DataQuery saves you time, a donation pays for development, code-signing certificates and build machines for each platform.
- Full-time development on adapters and the core
- Code-signing certificates for macOS and Windows
- CI machines and test hardware for every platform

Questions
Is DataQuery really free?
Yes. Every feature and every database engine is free for individual use. Donations are optional and do not unlock anything.
Do I need an account?
No. You download the app and connect. There is no sign-in for any core feature.
Does it send my data anywhere?
No. Telemetry is off by default and there is no backend. The optional AI assistant uses your own API key and shows exactly what it sends before each request.
Which platforms are supported?
DataQuery runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. The download button picks the installer for your system, and every build is on the GitHub Releases page.
Which databases work today?
All 18 engines in the list above: PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server, Oracle, ClickHouse, DuckDB, Snowflake, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, Valkey, Dragonfly, Cassandra, ScyllaDB, Elasticsearch (and OpenSearch) and Neo4j.
